Isn’t the IPhone SE the same size.

Yes it’ll work fine. The post is full of hyperbole. The only problem is apple may remove 32 bit apps from the app store for IOS 11 and then you won’t be able to update apps either.

Yes but Apple don’t, AFAIK, update core apps without a new OTA update. Google does it through Google play, that’s what the Google play services and android system webview apps are.

They won’t for a while. Fairly sure the SE has the same base as the 6s so they’ll have to kill both the 5S and 6 before they do the SE

It is at the moment however if Apple do end up removing all 32 bit apps it may quite quickly become obsolete.

I’d suggest going with one of the flagship models from LG or HTC. They usually have many of the same features of the Samsung’s and Google but enable SD cards unlike Google and have less bloatware than Samsung.

Just upfront, I do agree with your general sentiment but

It is except you get updates to core apps through the google play store. I think from Lollipop onwards Android System Webview has been updated through google play as are google play services so you still get some security updates even if it isn’t ideal.

It does but people are forgetting that android updates are less important than IOS ones. Many important updates (Webview, Google play services) update through Google play not OEM updates so you still get some security updates if your OEM has given up on updates. Finally many of the popular phones will get a Lineage OS

It’s stopped for me, many they’re trying a regional roll-out or something but I don’t seem to have it on any Kinja blogs.

That sounds fair, presumably though if you needed to you could get a plain mans shoe.

Depends, it’s fairly normal where I live (South East England). I think it depends how closely your country is related to America/ how Americanised your country is.

To be honest, I’d actually say the opposite. Provided you’re going to a Large European or other well developed country you’ll be able to get shoes at local stores.
