You could get the unlocked version if you were on a gsm carrier anyway.

You can, Gizmodo fucked up the title

They said in the stream that it works on project fi and that it is available from best buy and the google store.

It mainly costs that much so they can have similar profit margins to Samsung etc while producing a phone that is equivilant/better than other flagships which the nexuses never quite were.

Project fi works, they said in the keynote. Google also announced you can buy it from the Google Store and Best Buy.

It isn’t exclusive. They said in the keynote that the phone can be bought unlocked from the Google store and works on project fi

This article was incorrect. They are selling it fully unlocked on the Google Store.

Mostly because it isn’t true. Google are also selling the phone on the Google Store completely unlocked with a financing option.

True, you can also buy it from Best Buy. I presume the phones they will sell will also be unlocked

You don’t need to be. They will be available unlocked on the Google Store. Hopefully unlocked on Best Buy. Also Google announced in the key note that the pixel phones would work on the project-fi network

Yup, they also sell them on the Google store and Best Buy. The Google Store one is completely unlocked, idk about the Best Buy one

It pretty much is, you can buy it unlocked from the Google Store or presumably unlocked from Best Buy

Gizmodo is wrong. You can use project-fi with the pixel phones. They are sold on Best Buy and the Google Store and probably soon on Amazon.

I agree completely however the specs rival every other android manufacturers flagship while still getting android updates directly. I know the nexus’s did still get updates direct but they usually also had a slighter worse processor or some other minor issue. Also Gizmodo lied in the headline. You can buy it unlocked

I know this is sarcastic but as Apple are making a bigger deal about wireless headphones with this phone they should probably have stable Bluetooth working. Also if it is 12 people (with more than 12 devices overall) it is almost certainly either a batch wide problem, problem with every phone or a software problem

If you have the time/ can risk messing up your phone almost every major phone will have a version of vanilla android that you could flash on to it. Although i get that you can’t always do that with work phones.

I3 let alone I5 are far more than fine for web browsing. Those are current gen Pentiums and Celerons. The I3 and I5 are good enough for almost all people because very few programs (video editors being the exception) support Multi-threading or more than dual-core processors.

Presumably this can’t happen once chip and pin is brought to US atms?

They did but brought it back with the Moto Z play.

They didn’t until after it had started happening and currently have informal recalls set up for phones in affected areas.
