In Seattle we all take lots of vitamin D. There is a severe lack of sun most winters between the short days and cloud layer. So this is a good guess.

Thanks for reccomending that article. I'll be reading it often till it sinks in fully.
People looking for jobs in hospitality usually know what they are getting into with strange schedules. If you are upfront with what the hours are before someone is hired and post scheduled ahead of time people can make their own decisions on what works for their lives.
I don't know exactly what your situation is so ignore any suggestions that aren't right for you. Have you called all your utilities to make arrangements for a payment plan? Sold some plasma? Checked Craigslist etc jobs for paid studies? (That one saved me last year). Foodstamps or food banks?
Pack any electronic chargers in your carryon too. I have Kindle Fire and downloaded Transparent from Amazon Prime for free and watched it on the plane last month. It was easy to hang from the seat in front of me and definitely recommend doing if you have a tablet of some sort. But I would also recommend choosing a…
I just spent a week in LA and my face wanted to die! I have great skin when I stay in Seattle. Differences are so interesting. One of my friends left Seattle for DC and her hair and skin are so much happier there.
Don't let those people get to you. I have never wanted children and have yet to meet someone I would consider spending the rest of my life with but that is me. You found the right person for yourself and made it possible to afford a child, that is all fantastic!
I live across the street from a school, supposedly the one for smart kids. I had to call the school the other day and complain because there was some early evening event and as I was trying to walk home I almost got hit by two cars and saw three going the wrong way on one way streets. I hate the school and can't wait…
I am usually drinking with beer drinkers so to slow down my consumption of alcohol I order single, tall drinks. Sometimes I explain my wish for a pint glass. I get the size I want but some of my regular bartenders over pour which is lovely of them but doesn't slow me down.
My friend was finally diagnosed with syndrom which I forgot the name of but it causes various allergies and sensitivities. She is allergic to pork, epipen needed, but sensitive to raw onions; her list is forever long. Saw allergists for years and finally got diagnosed at the emergency room because she is allergic to…
People here are complaining about the lack of winter. Please remember though that these are the same people who complain about temperatures under 30 or above 80 degrees.
Different people, different priorities. Never said they had vast resources or were making intelligent decisions but was stating a fact. Next I recommend someone move in writing I will include an emoticon so my poorly planned joke is more apparent.
Future welcome to Seattle. I sat outside in the sunshine today which no layers, only a t-shirt but I do wish we would get some snow.
But surprised how my comment was perceived but the conversation that followed was interesting. I just live in a state where it is legal. And yes, I know of people that legal weed was part of the decision to move here.
I currently have several people in my life dealing with alcohol problems, one who sounds very similar to your boyfriend and has a ten month old son. Amazing father who is making changes in his but it is a slow process. Get some professional help.
Hurt feelings are so frustrating. If you say something drama can happen and if you stay quiet, resentment. I have gone through similar situations recently and have come to the conclusion that there are some friendships I am no longer putting any energy or effort into. If invited I will usually attend their party or I…
You live in the wrong place, just move.
I love bookstores with cats!
Expectations on tipping are still 20% here in Washington where servers make minimum wage. In Seattle we are about to start raising the minimum wage up to $15 per hour in increments over the next several years but I don't think that will change tipping practices as Seattle is getting expensive. To the unionized barista…
Another lurker but I'm in.
