Read the Columbia journalism review. Her main mistake was not talking to her three friends, who were with Jackie the night it happened.

The idea that these guys suffered harm when they weren’t even named, let alone arrested or convicted, is hysterical to me. They worst thing that happened to them was their multi-million dollar house was vandelized, which yeah sucks, but irreparable harm? Come. On.
Only 2-8% of rapes are false, and of these, over half of them don’t actually name anyone as their rapist. They are usually mentally ill people who desperately need help. Of those who do name someone, it’s often teenagers who need an alibi - very often ones who broke a curfew or something similar. So your sister would…
Lol. She’s ONLY 33. Omg people. 33 is NOT old. Jesus.
Dear Police Chief Charlie Beck,
My new thing is walking through a group of men, just for kicks. I find looks of shock on their faces to be quite satisfying.
Here is a fun fact that too many people don’t know about: just a few months ago, the department of education came back with the results of their investigation into UVA, and found that they had violated Title IX in numerous ways. Most importantly, they said that Eramo had contributed to a “hostile environment” when she…
Did you read the dept of education’s investigation into UVA? They found that Eramo created a “hostile environment” because she ADMITTED that they didn’t expell rapists found responsible, even those who confess. She’s a mega bitch and a liar herself, and should have been fired years ago!
Can we please PLEASE stop using the term ‘date rape.’ Rape is rape. If someone is killed by their boyfriend, do we call it ‘date murder’? NO. Stop with this nonesense. Saying ‘date rape’ tiers the crime and makes non-stranger rape seem like it’s “rape-lite.”
Here’s what I don’t get.
Yes, but she also said there was a tear as well.
I think juries don’t convict for rape because the sentences are so high. Why don’t we end mandatory minimuns and decrease sentences so we can actually start to convict these guys for once?
Here’s what I think happened. I think the jury wanted to get him, but they didn’t want to send him to jail for 20-40 years. SO they slapped him with as many misdemeanor charges as they could and then the felony one.
I would like to add that it was hideous — prejudicial and victim blaming and smearing and really ugly — for that bar to have released the video. Particularly the footage of the three women in the bathroom together, because they know the inference everyone will draw is that they went in to do drugs together.
I watched the video, and felt that it confirmed her account.
Here is what I think.
I remember living in a sorority dorm as a sophomore (my roommate was in a sorority, I was not). Several sororities lived on my floor, so I got a pretty good idea of what it is all about. I don’t really know how much I believe the whole ‘sisterhood’ thing. As a non-Greek girl who a lot of the Greek girls liked because…
Hey! The Miami Student is doing a series on sexual assault and wants to reach out to alum. Would you be willing to share your story? Thanks!
Thank you for your response. I am a Miami alum and living in Oxford currently working on this issue. Would you be interested in connecting at some point? I know the university newspaper is working on a series on sexual assault and I’m sure they would love to hear from alum as well...you could remain as anonymous as…
