I think we’re trying to make two different points. I absolutely agree that disrespect of black people is endemic throughout society. I agree that police officers are a part of society, and (all things being equal) are likely to show the same levels of disrespect. So far we agree.

I was summarising what appeared to me to be your argument, and asking if I was correct. From your reply, I assume I am not. So can you please explain why you brought up black-on-black respect in a discussion about systemic police disrespect of black people? I do not understand the relevance of your point.

I saw them directing their protest to a closed door, which happened to have a white woman standing in front of it. She probably felt uncomfortable, but the protesters did not touch her or try to restrict her…

Do you mean the video in the body of the article? They’re shouting slogans outside a closed door and participating in a rowdy public meeting, as they have every right to do. I didn’t see any property damage or violence or any other behaviour I would characterise as “terrible”. Are you referring to a different video?
