Malcolm X directly references MLK in the first paragraph in this speech and then goes on in the last half to talk about how non-violence (at least in the face of violence) doesn’t work, and how they can’t go to white leaders to ask for their rights. It may have not been directed solely at King, but in this speech and

Also, just as an addition; while this particular quote is part of Dr. King Jr’s reputation, I think that Malcolm X nudged King to be more radical — that the criticism ultimately benefitted him even if he was not a fan of it at the time. I don’t know if MLK III will take anything from the criticism he faces, but I hope

It’s all good! I have a problem where I’m not always clear with my intentions on the internet, so stuff doesn’t always come across how I intend it to.

No, he won’t. I wasn’t trying to align Trump with Johnson in any form, just pointing out where the quote came from and why.

I wasn’t trying to insinuate that Johnson was even remotely as bad as Trump is, nor was I trying to say anything negative about him at all, and my intention wasn’t to force a comparison. I was just pointing out that this particular quote was in reference to King meeting with Johnson. I didn’t mean anything more by it,

King himself sat down with Lyndon B. Johnson multiple times — in fact, Malcom X was arguably speaking about King in that quote.

I don’t remember when I first learned about the Holocaust, I think fairly young, but we read Night I think in my 6th grade English class and the Diary of Anne Frank in my 7th grade pre-AP English class, but my not TAG/GT or pre-AP friends didn’t read either until high school.

I don’t know why but things like that hit me the hardest.

Dude I have such a hard time not bawling my eyes out without the traveling exhibits, but those usually gut me. And they show this movie where survivors talk at the end of every visit and it’s just the saddest thing ever.

The Houston Holocaust museum had an exhibit once that decimated me. It was eyeglasses that I guess we’re confiscated from one of the camps — I want to say it was roughly 300,000 of them. Little 12/13 year old me cried through the entire museum but I lost my shit at the glasses.

Yeah, I’ve gotten the lesbian “insult” a few times. I’m straight, but my response is always something alone the lines of “I wish! All of the lesbians I know are AMAZING people!”

Got into a petty twitter feud with this guy because he was talking shit about Rep. John Lewis and he tries to insult me by calling me a “liberal university student”. Yep, I am both of those things. That really hurt my feelings, you know, being called exactly what I am.

I will be running a 5k, maybe painting my nails.

Didn’t even finish the article before I rage quit.

oh my god no.

The only classes I’ve seen people use laptops (usually not to actually take notes, which is why a lot of profs don’t allow them) are in large auditorium classes of 100+ students. All the smaller classes I haven’t seen a single one.

Currently in school — 98% of my classmates still write notes the old school way and only 25% of my professors even allow laptop use.

The point is that the leaks should be balanced. Leak it all, not just the stuff that would help your preferred candidate.

Yeah, I wasn’t planning on taking it further. You can only entertain the people who call you dumb for so long before you just roll your eyes and move on!

I think Wikileaks had the ability and the means to gather information from the RNC and didn’t.
