The World is Not Enough is a top5 franchise overall movie IMO, I really fucking love it. Yes, even Denise Richards and “Chistmas comes once a year” and the submarine climax, it works.

It’s like they tried to hard counter the goofy Moore Bond without realizing that they had 2 other guys between them. Bond isn’t and shouldn’t be a gritty and full-on action man, there are other franchises for that. I hope next Bond plays it better but I have serious doubt.

Maybe I’m warped by having watched 3 other actors before him play the character but Craig never read Bond to me. He was too generic action man and lacked the sublety, levity and suave-ness that make Bond such an enduring part of our cultural landscape. His movies were good movies, but not good “Bond movies” IMO.

I’m a millennial and Brosnan wasn’t the first Bond I saw but he’s still my favorite. I think his movies bar Die Another Day get an unwarranted bad rep. I love The World is Not Enough and GoldenEye we all agree is awesome.

I think people would appreciate Moore’s take more if there were someone else between him and Lazenby and Connery.
