I'm 29 and just saw them at a small club last week. One of the best shows I've ever been to (out of 100s). You have to be ready for the mosh pit!… and it's nice to see lots of ages at their shows now. I saw eerything from 19 to 57 years old
I agree. It's not "hardcore punk" at all, but it's still good rock music, and I think if they didn't have those early punk albums, (which I'm glad they DO), they wouldn't get half the flack they recieve from people being all nostalgic about their high school punk days
I really enjoyed this review. Spot on! I'm liking Burials a lot and have been playing it none stop. Much better than Crash Love.
It's kind of unfortunate that because AFI started as a punk band, they get saddled with constant comparisons to their old sound. Yeah, I like their earlier albums too, but they don't do that…
