I really don't see her case to be such a cut-and-dry guilty of murder situation as the reviews have implied.

To be fair, we have never met an intelligence who did not act and feel the same as we do (well, at least not the kind of intelligence that has a theory of mind). So if you could even come up with a different kind of intelligence, like in Solaris, you'd need the entire series to explore just how to interact with it.

Ben almost turned on his father and asked for people to be publicly executed with less than a week in Mrs. Fisher's hypno-indoctrination program. I can believe that the kids who were in the program for years are all messed up.

But the two that did were new. They had just been inducted into the school a couple of days before.

These children had automatic weapons and the element of surprise. A bullet shot by a kid does the exact same amount of damage as a bullet shot by an adult.
