I know those hundreds of meetings were not held in this realm!

Hey at least we don’t have to have hearings and discussions on it like the last one...

For myself, it takes about five seconds to get out a notebook, uncap a pen and start writing. It takes about 20 seconds to get my phone unlocked, open the appropriate app, and start writing. That makes a big difference for me.

I see your point. It’s easy for some people to adapt to using smartphones. For some people like myself, I get more out writing an idea on paper. It becomes more like a mental image. When I glance at the page I can remember what I wrote by my handwriting and the structure I use.

In the US, west of the Mississippi, triple trailers are common. Granted, they're pup trailers (28 footers) usually.

You're under the mistaken impression that B2B is the same as consumer markets. It's not. They'll happily pay by the mile if the metrics show consistent savings. Unlike you and I, convenience isn't their driving MO.

No because the makeup of the platoons would be constantly changing, just like the makeup of a large freight train as it travels from state to state, except there are way more trucks and way more potential stops on the road vs on track.

Chances are the hardware includes a cellular modem that will make periodic callbacks.

Grocery stores WISH they could do this. The idea of charging a customer exactly what they're willing to pay for a product is a manufacturer's/retailer's wet dream.

I doubt it will be an ongoing fee, but more like the manufacturer will base their purchase price on the fleet's annual mileage - this way their pricing structure will be appropriate for large and small fleets alike.

That's when they sell you your own system to communicate with the truckers' system so you can make a "request" and the train will open up a gap for you to get over.
