Considering the reviews of the Veloster N with the same powertrain and the absolutely massive front brakes, I expect this won’t fall apart after a couple laps on track, like the CTR does. So Advantage Hyundai in my books.

You’re probably thinking of the 1994 Spanish GP, where his car got stuck in 5th gear. However, 1) this was at Barcelona, 2) Schumacher was driving for Benetton, 3) there were no mandatory pit stops, but this was the refueling era and it made sense from a strategy perspective to always do at least one stop, 4)…
That counterpoint is really good, especially because these EVs are likely replacing motorcycles (actually, scooters) in these areas.
Pour one out for the backs of dealership techs.
I’m waiting for your tire sizing article to truly break the internet. :) As someone that swears by smaller tires (I run 32s on my Tacomas), it can be a bit frustrating to see people new to the hobby immediately ask how they can fit 35s/37s etc. etc. Nobody ever seems to listen to the pros of smaller tires, but now we…
Further to this, if you do get a bathroom tent and your husband still hasn’t sorted shower solutions, there are plenty of shower solutions available, from bare bone bags of water to luxurious temperature controlled propane hot showers (I have a version of the latter). I generally find that taking a shower every other…
I think we’re really missing the main product for this platform, which isn’t the BEV but rather the rotary PHEV. Think of it like the Honda Clarity family of vehicles, where the PHEV reigns supreme. The Clarity BEV was kind of bad and an afterthought and didn’t sell. I expect the same for the MX-30 BEV. However, if…
Every generation, everything just wider and wider and I wonder where it’s gonna stop. The Ford Raptor can barely fit into the lane on certain parts of the freeway system in LA. People can’t even seem to keep their Camrys from drifting out of their lanes. Is everything destined to become real life Canyoneros that are…
Thanks for taking the words out of my mouth and explaining it better than I can.
I bet you it’s not and there’s a typo somewhere. Even F1 forged magnesium wheels don’t weigh that little.
This is true. Matt Brown actually did a good job of explaining it, which is a huge improvement over previous articles. I guess I’m just a bit tired of all the articles (and there are a ton of them) explaining manufacturer patent filings to try to figure out which direction they’re going. Jalopnik seems to pull them…
I’m a patent prosecutor (I obtain patents for my clients) so by definition I can’t be a patent troll since trolls are patent litigators (they sue). I’ve actually never been involved in a lawsuit in my life, which is kind of hilarious.
Because I’m an attorney.
Patent attorney here: can we stop trying to determine a company’s future direction from their patent filings? I find articles like this to be very misleading to the general public and worst than those Popular Mechanics articles about flying cars that I used to read in my youth. I literally file patents on any…
It’s a very pointy Lotus, but that’s also partly due to my aggressive alignment. It’s how I like it.
I run them on the streets, but the car only sees track and canyon runs anyway.
I have a very pointy car. Just the way I like it.
The balance of the car has changed, but that’s more due to the change in wheel offset. I have an A-B comparison as I had previously run the same size sidewalls in a 15/16 setup. Regardless, I changed the spring rates to compensate and got the balance back.
15x8 Enkei RPF1s and 15x8.5 Konig Hypergrams with some spacers to make them clear parts of the car.
205/50-15 and 225/50-15. Testing has shown that the aforementioned wheel widths optimize these tire sizes.
