This has to be the douchiest comment i've read in a while. Just, wow.

To this day, I seriously don't get the hate towards old Raiden. What made him "emo," exactly? Granted, it's been a while since I've played MGS2, but I don't remember him whining or doing anything of the sort. Most of that was done by Rose. I get a feeling that if he had short brown/black hair, people wouldn't be

Worse for me. It's true that the story for the past games isn't shakespearean, but that's not the point. Judging from the demo/trailers, this game takes itself too seriously while dishing out jokes that fall flat on their face.

Not if it changes for the worse.

"They already swapped out Amano."

Say what you will about the story/characters, but I still think that X-2 had the best battle system, and Square should've built more from that instead of what we got with XIII. The battles were fast paced without taking away direct control of the rest of your party.

Didn't really bother me. When it comes to combat, practicality goes out the window in any fantasy game with a fire spell, or with gun vs. sword scenarios. Back in the colonial days, men would wear tights with puffy shirts and the like, so a fashion-centered society isn't really that farfetched.

So did Auron, Jecht, Kimarhi, Wakka (FFX)Cid, Rufus, Tseng, Reno, Rude, and President Shinra (FFVII)

"Bottom line, if you wonder why it seems no one gives a hoot about FF, its Yoshitaka Amano.

Never said it wasn't an opinion. It was a figure of speech.

Wow, that was just excellent. Borders on being objective.

Wouldn't be a bad idea. But why should it be me who starts one? I'm sure there are more qualified people.

That future seems pretty bleak.

"....will employ an anti-used games mechanism like that of the next Xbox."

"I mean why is it needed?"

I'm on the fence on having a "Gaymer" convention. On one hand, you have a place where LGBT's can hang out and be themselves without worrying about running into any homophobes or any other insensitive people(save the possible/probable picketers). That's great.

" since you save IN that dungeon, you can't back out of it and grind back to a point of being playable."

I've finished the game, yes. Twice. But it's been almost half a decade ago since my last playthrough. I don't remember having too much trouble, or having to grind, excessively. I'm on the final part of the 3rd disc as of right now, and I guess I'll see if I remember correctly or not.

I'd have to agree with you when it comes to having a "base" level of objectivity, but I think it'd be a mistake to compare any of the final fantasy games to either "the room" or "friday."(not that you did.) This is coming from someone that actually despises XIII.

"but the deeper you dig in your heels, the less objective your opinions seem"
