oh you’re good.
oh you’re good.
Hunh. I had a completely different expectation, not sure why. You are right, she wasn’t consistent this season. But I put more stock in Kaetlyn winning bronze in 2018 than I had for Joannie Rochette to nab it in 2010, even before her mother died. I think that silver medal at Worlds really sealed my faith in her as a…
ungrey this puppy!

Yes, exactly. It’s called skating for pride, and many of the greats of the sport have done it. I will always remember Kurt Browning’s long program in Lillehammer, skated with such gusto after completely cocking up the short.
LOL, and I like how she “saved” it with the help of team mates in 2 of the 4 events. She makes it sound like the pairs dug a hole to China with their scores.
Good christ. Not that I ever wondered why I don’t watch that tripe, but thanks for answering the question anyway.
Amen to that. It was a bitter pill for the Canadians to swallow but it’s nice for the Americans to get their turn at it.
I did get a big laugh out of Johnny Weir channeling Caesar Flickerman from Hunger Games the other night. (Possibly every night?)
Aw, hearts and empathy. It sucks to lose. At least we all had Scott Moir to speak on our behalf.
I don’t know, wasn’t listening that closely. My point was that she was technically ranked #2 in the world from last season, when Zagitova wasn’t in the picture. So it’s not wildly unexpected that she would finish top 3. It’s completely logical. I see now from the reactions to my original comment that the perception…
That’s just catty bullshit right there.
OMG and with the Men’s curling not even taking bronze. Hockey and curling are supposed to be our sure things!
You skated with Ravi?! He always seemed like such a nice guy. Awkward, coltish long legs tho - I remember thinking his quads looked sort of wooden. But CBC made a big deal about how he coaxed her back into loving skating and believing in herself after her injured season. Nice.
I was bummed when I heard she was doing Black Swan, and that she was super psyched to do it. I quite like her skating and her presentation but I found this routine to pretty humdrum.
The American commentators? TBH, I was drunk when I got home last night; watched her skate and cheered but didn’t really notice the chatter. Also, I was feeling a strong desire to punch Kurt Browning in the throat. I did at one point turn to NBC but Osmond had already skated at that point. And they were just as cheesy…
I saw this on mushrooms and it was the funniest shit ever.
Yeah you have to read Dvora Meyers’ coverage on Deadspin if you want commentary with any insights. Jez writers are sticking to fashion and not getting how the judging system works.
What is with this diss on Katelyn Osmond’s “completely unexpected” great skate? She’s the reigning world silver medalist - Canada certainly thought she had a pretty good shot at the bronze.
Trump voters.
