Nope, sorry.
Nope, sorry.
I wish we could have PuppyWork here.
In Canada, we switched to metric when I was 8 years old (1977 or 78). I vaguely remember talking about it in school, and I remember people being pissy and grouchy for years and years afterward because they didn't know what the temperature was.
Yes. Get some chow, friend.
Yup. Gross, gross, gross.
Meh. They're complicit as they participate and profit from that culture, so... gross.
I get that. I was reacting to the notion that "Blue is only two and deserves a chance to have a fun birthday" - I just hate when people in our culture use the word "deserve". What did any of us do to deserve anything? It's just a trigger for me.
Oh my god! I feel like I'm no longer alone in the world.
When I was four I was feeding potato chips to geese and one bit my big toe.
I get what you're saying but it's still gross. I find the use of the word "deserves" to be dubious in about 90% of its uses in North American culture (commercials, self-help credos, etc.) but in particular when used to talk about this little two year old. Why does she deserve the chance to have a fun birthday? Why…
It is a bittersweet experience for me. We have a wonderful zoo in Toronto but there is something quite gutting about seeing a bald eagle in a cage, even if the cage is outside and 30 feet high.
I liked that Oklahoma was one of the other states. I expect as soon as the Tea Party finds out, they'll rectify the situation.
Re: the selfie/boob mass, I fucking love science.
I know. Oklahoma threw me for a loop too. Suspect Tea Party unaware of this, will rectify upon notification.
I am horrified that you thought I was telling you to calm down! Glad that's sorted.
I think my initial comment was badly formed. I was mostly annoyed at "MustangAlley" for getting all sadface about the notion that men have no business commenting on whether or not abortion is painful. I thought I'd point out that s/he didn't need to get so worked up about the poor men being marginalized, as the person…
I don't really care the gender of the mansplainer. It's a shit thing to say, period.
Well I guess I sure had that coming to me.
Fair enough.
Huffington Post has an article with a map of the US showing states where a woman's advance directives regarding their care during pregnancy will be automatically invalidated. Shudder.
