Okay I can see that my irreverent "previous empire status" comment was maybe not fully contemplated. I don't really think of the Japanese empire in the same vein as the British Empire or the Roman Empire but I'm sure that's just the ethnocentrism talking. My bad.

Even less long ago, Japanese Americans and Canadians were interned during WWII, which qualifies as subjugation, right?

I didn't even know prostaglandins was a word, let alone something my body generates. I always reckoned there was some sort of sciency explanation for it, as is the case with almost everything. But I didn't know what it was, and now, whoopdedoo, I do. But yeah, I get it, not a stop-the-presses kinda moment.
