I prefer the ASCII. It’s abstract and lovely, It also stimulates my mind’s eye more letting me imagine my own aesthetic and feeling to the world while also just enjoying the arcane nature to it all.

Your mention of Lord of the Rings, we are halfway through the book after finishing the Hobbit. It’ll probably go down as one of my favorite periods of my life forever reading together at bedtime journeying and answering questions about Middle-earth.

I beg to disagree, sure it can be unrealistic but to show constraint and moderation in your imagined worlds is respectable, and when it comes to video games; Immersive. To me at least.
