Why don’t any of these morons know that a “lame duck” president is a sitting president after the next president is elected? So from November to January of their last term. The entire last year of the last term does not make a president a “lame duck”!

A Supreme Court justice, ideally, is not a Democrat or a Republican but rather someone who can impartially evaluate complicated legal issues irrespective of politics.

Only the fellas over at Gawker get to talk about it, where they happily leave Jez community in the grey.

Moments like this I realise I live in a very sheltered liberal bubble. Maybe it’s living in NYC but I don’t know a single person who got offended or felt threatened by Beyonce’s video. Also, who the hell are these people? The video and song are catchy and yeah the political elements are there but they’re pretty light

Actually, *some* white people went into defense mode. Given that 249 million Americans identify as white I think the general consensus to the video was no one gave a flying fuck. Don’t believe twitter or the media as representing any one single race of people.

It’s so poorly done. Why do celebs get terrible tattoos when they can afford to hire the best artists?

For me, 99% of the time I’m only browsing io9 and my RSS feed when I’m not in the right time/place for watching videos. Or I’m already watching TV in another browser tab, or I have music playing. Or like right now, somebody in the same room is playing a video game loudly. Generally I just don’t care for video content

And the act of Gawker sites posting lists in video form yet EVERY SINGLE TIME the most starred comment is how much everyone hates them continues.

The things I do for you people. :P

Yeah, I’m not surprised ordinary people don’t understand superdelegates. It also doesn’t surprise me that people mistake party politics for actual elections (which is why you have redditors crying out that it’s voter fraud or something?). But it really disappoints me that supposed “journalists” (HA!), especially on a

Agreed. And it would have to be pretty close for them to make a difference. And it would be almost impossible to be closer than the Obama/Clinton primary. And there the superdelegates were initially behind Clinton and then shifted to Obama. In the final, regular delegates were 1,828½ v. 1,726½ (Obama and Clinton,

Me too. So anxious. I hate everything about this.

My first choice is probably Clinton, but I like Sanders too. I really want it to be over because watching Dems tear each other apart makes me anxious.

2008 wasn’t decided until June. I can’t take that with this election. Especially if Cruz or Trump are GOP pick.

That’s not really how superdelegates work. They don’t get more delegate votes than the population.

The superdelegates’ votes seem to benefit both candidates the way they’d prefer to benefit. They make Clinton appear more vetted, trusted by the party leaders to win the general election. They make Sanders appear like the populist underdog, taking a stand against a corruptible system.

That’s not exactly the attackiest attack I’ve ever heard.

What about if the 2 leads have great chemistry but then you bring his dead witch wife back to life and waste an entire season?
