Ooooh! That never occured to me. I love it!

Thank you for not disappointing me.

He had a major career in both musical and straight theater. If you heard the song, “Try to Remember,” it was Ohrbach who was the first one to sing it (The Fantastiks).

And sadly, one of the last song-and-dance men. But how wonderful was it that in the latter part of his career Ohrbach was recognized AND loved by the non-theater going public.

To repeat a comment I made above, these people are not journalists. They simply read the news copy.

Yep. And these people are news readers, not journalists.

John Glover was perfection!

God I hope so. As an actor she’s so far below the level of everyone else on the show it’s embarrassing to watch.

The best casting (so far) was George Hamilton as Extra Crispy.

Uh, Ken Levine has extensive experience in film and TV. It was a typo, not an indication of ignorance.

Super loud and over the top? That pretty much describes DDL in GANGS OF NEW YORK.

And to put a coda to this, consider that Edward G. Robinson was never even nominated for an Oscar. I just see the awards as a recognition achievement.

Oldman a journeyman? Are you f*cking kidding me?

I loathe DDL. He ACTS. Showboating and making it all about him. He wouldn’t know subtlety and nuance if they kissed him. I haven’t seen DARKEST HOUR but I know that it’s a “big” role, the type that wins Oscars. And Oldman apparently wants the Oscar; there has been a notable campaign from his agent and PR for a few

History: When Rod Steiger won for the IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT, it was generally considered that he really won for THE PAWNBROKER, which, I believe, was the year before. But that was a real downer of a film and the Oscars generally don’t go for things like that.

Actually, he is heads and shoulders above the other nominees given his body of work.

Hate his politics but I can’t think of a better film actor. Just watched his one previous nomination (TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY) and he should have won for that. But it’s a subtle and nuanced performance and I don’t think any actor since Gregory Peck has won for something that isn’t big and/or transformative.

I’m not a Star Wars fan so I have no skin in this but LOOPER is one of my all time favorite films so I’m not surprised SW:TLJ is getting great (pre) reviews. After the initial rush I just may go out and see it.

And I’ll nullify your vote because I wouldn’t vote for this bastard unless my vote was a tie-breaker. Biden can go fuck himself (and he would probably enjoy it).
