It makes sense that there are weird legal technicalities that created the situation. But I still think the victim’s family would be outraged. They lost their daughter, and it seems like nobody in any of the countries involved protected their right to justice.

It seems strange to me that he has never served any time for murdering and eating an innocent young woman. Her family must have been outraged by that outcome.

I think it was the right decision. Jet Li is one of the greatest martial arts actors of all time -- he doesn’t need appearances in the Matrix sequels to validate that.

Maybe an apology by the dad would not be sincere. But it would seem more relevant than an apology by the son, who wasn’t even involved in writing the comments. It seems like all the people who are apologizing didn’t actually do anything wrong.

It’s interesting to me that professional basketball players like Towns and Wiggins can play the sport their entire lives and not realize that defense and effort are part of the deal. Why are they so perplexed? Is it really some big mystery?

“you have to wonder what Butler’s end game is here?”

Agreed. The Sixers have apologized. The player has apologized. It seems like everyone has apologized, except for the guy who actually made the offensive comments. I don’t get it. Shouldn’t he be the one apologizing?

Thanks. While there is no need to defend myself, I try to smooth the waters whenever internet conversation gets turbulent. There’s enough hostility out there, I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t contributing any more.

It took me a second to decipher their intentions as well. Clear communication can be helpful. I was trying to be helpful, but this is the internet, so not every communication is well-received.

Folks are welcome to their own preference. But it’s important to understand how our communications are received. I just wanted to point out that they had a valid point, but a triple negative can garble the message.

I didn’t say you were wrong. I was just suggesting that your point was unclear by phrasing it that way. You don’t need to give any fucks. Sometimes people appreciate constructive criticism. Peace.

That statement is a triple negative. Surely you could have found a more elegant way to phrase the sentiment? Maybe “Not having microtransactions is always a good thing?”

“Maybe nobody deserves that kind of treatment, including both Conor AND the victims of the bus melee?” That’s fine. But since Conor did throw the dolly, the notions of karma and justice suggest he is no longer blameless after that point. I think the damage he did, compared to the damage he received (getting punched)

I never said “Khabib or his crew should ever be allowed inside a UFC event ever again.” I’m not sure why you think I did. You seem to be arguing against a point that I did not make.

Conor threw a dolly at a bus that got glass in the eye of Ray Borg, injured Michael Chiesa, and continues to traumatize Rose Namajunas. “He didn’t deserve to get jumped and attacked after the fight was over”? I mean, it seems like he absolutely deserves that kind of treatment.

Along these same lines,

Oh yeah, right! And Nick Foles, too!

Watching Mahomes running the Andy Reid offense makes you realize how much Alex Smith handicapped the Chiefs with his limitations. (It’s a similar sensation to seeing Jared Goff and Case Keenum suddenly flourish once they escaped from under Jeff Fisher...)
