Watching this game, I couldn’t help but think of Lane Johnson’s quote: “I’d much rather have fun and win a Super Bowl than be miserable and win five Super Bowls.” I mean -- maybe they don’t want to win any more Super Bowls?

Middle relief absolutely exists in the post-season. In fact, there is far more middle relief in the post-season than the regular season. Especially now, more than ever.

What? What the hell does this quote have to do with Golf Digest freeing an innocent man from prison?

The Frank Stallone song was “Far From Over.”

That’s not Frank Stallone. That’s Robert Tepper.

Gruden has long-term job security. The Raiders are playing lame duck games in front of an Oakland crowd they will shortly be abandoning for Vegas. They are playing for the future and have no motivation to be good at the moment — as this trade clearly illustrates.

“It’s not Andrea’s fault. She is sweet and kind and she forgave him all the time.”

Thomas himself said that he played because his sister died tragically and he needed to be on the court as a form of therapy.

“That’s it. There’s no WAY Marvin survives this. They can’t possibly justify keeping him around after a showing like that.”

6-8 million? Based on what? All reports for weeks since his release have been consistent about the Rockets giving him the 2.4 million veteran minimum, starting with the New York Times and Marc Stein:

It’s a nice idea, but it will never catch on — the NBA has publicly announced that it plans on getting rid of one-and-done in a couple of years. If kids want to get paid immediately, they won’t need to play in the NCAA or Australia.

The Rockets are over the cap and there are very few players they can pick up cheap who would make any appreciable difference. Carmelo is a free roll of the dice and, if he doesn’t work out, they can cut their ties with very little invested in him. Morey knows about taking advantage at the margins and improving a team

I wish there was some discussion on what making Overseas Elite particularly effective. They don’t have the most decorated talent but nobody can beat them. Is it defense? Offensive scheme? 3-point shooting? Depth? Anyone have any insights? I would love to know.

“But working very closely with Joe Maddon for many years would, especially since that is probably one of Maddon’s strengths.”

Most bars don’t have a Nielsen box, so they would not be counted in the Nielsen ratings.
