I don't mind that AV Club is posting political articles, but it's starting to get to me that these always seem to be the most recent article when I check the site. I, by in large, come here for pop culture, and when I see I political article I don't comment. If we were still getting a lot of high quality pop culture

I would honestly still tell someone to wait. Maybe for $10, but I don’t think the combat is nearly as fun as most people think it is. It’s an utterly mediocre game.

It would be cool to see a survey of how many Switch users owned a Wii U vs. how many passed on it. In a few years I’m guessing Switch owners that actually owned the Wii U will be the minority as the Switch surpasses it in sales, but I wonder where we stand right now.

Holy shit, I didn't even know that happened. I'm sorry, I thought you were saying this was better than Dear White People, which got a full season of coverage.

How about we don't root for drop coverage of shows we dislike? I used to love this site because they covered so many shows I wasn't interested in. It made me broaden my pop cultural POV and reevaluate shows I never would have, otherwise.

I sent you a friend request.

OK I sent a friend request. I should show up as "Lawwwra".

It embarrassingly didn't occur to me until now, but I'd probably understand very little of what was being said on mic judging by the amount of Japanese people I'm paired with in Mario Kart.

And it wasn’t even 100% playable. When I played it (on launch), it was one of the glitchiest games I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I’m talking worse than some Bethesda RPG’s. It’d routinely freeze when I was trying to resume play, certain quests wouldn’t complete, and I got that lovely “everyone freezes in

It wasn't Singles was it? I know that was early 90s though.

I never realized pregnancy tests used to be conducted that way, but now I've seen them show up in 3 pieces of media I watched this year. The other current example was 20th century women (the first time I'd ever seen one), and then I watched Singles last week and saw one again.

And it's not even an interesting failure. My strongest impression (apart from hating Peebee) was that everything was incredibly bland. This isn't a game like Dragon Age 2 that is uneven while still excelling in a few key areas. Instead, we got something that was pretty much a video game. You could press play and it

Here’s the big difference between the two of us: you were having fun and I wasn’t. It doesn’t matter how many things were in the game were “competent” because, at the end of the day, most of that content was a slog for me.

Nothing, really, which was another reason the game was so disappointing.

Oh, well, I think I came off about as harsh as I meant to. I was even less jazzed than you were, but I still finished it out of bitter obligation.

I really hate this narrative. Mass Effect is my favorite series, and suddenly I’m not welcome in the community because I hated Andromeda. The truth is I was just as excited for the game as anyone else, and I was incredibly let down. And now, on top of feeling that disappointment, my feelings are also being invalidated

The problem is “solid” isn’t good enough when there are so many better options. It’s not the worst game ever, but I don’t see any reason to play it unless you love Mass Effect. I was really burned by the whole experience (Mass Effect is my favorite series), and I wouldn’t have finished the game if it wasn’t a mass

I know I was pretty harsh on the game, but I really feel for people who were holding out hope for a dlc that could fix the base games story issues. Dragon Age Inquisition certainly set that precedent, but it wasn't meant to be.

The short matches are also a blessing if you (hypothetically) have an elderly grandma that calls 20 times a day and gets frantic when you don't answer the phone. 30 minute matches are a huge commitment when you can't look away from the screen or pick up the phone.

Same! But that's also part of Mario Kart's charm for me. Usually I get frustrated by the huge skill descrepency between me and other players (this also happened in the past when I was roped into a Mario kart Wii sessions with friends), but MK8 always feels accessible enough that I have a shot at beating people, even
