I was a gamer all throughout my childhood, but I definitely left and returned after a hiatus. The main issue was money: I knew there was no was I’d afford a PS3 as a teenager or college student (let alone games), so I eventually drifted away from it. It wasn’t until 2012 when PS3's were cheaper that I finally bought

Maybe a mini series (this is purely speculation on my end) but it seems like this is pretty final.

Yesterday, Gilmore Guys ran it's final episode with their biggest possible guest: Lauren Graham. I will admit I'm going to miss the show, but if it had to end, this was the best possible outcome.

Well in sort of delightful(?) news, a kitten wandered into the house today. It is not my kitten.

I always enjoy the topics you both pick. Thanks for some great articles, guys!

That's how the first season of The Magicians was. Not only did they burn through the entire first book, they burned through one of the biggest plots of the second.

Looks like he issued an apology:

I don't know if Maher is a bigot or not. He's certainly ignorant on a lot of topics and said a lot of fucked up things over the years, but bigotry is a spectrum, so classification might vary from person to person.

Yeah, he went for, "What's the single most offensive way I can phrase this?" and now people are rightfully offended.

I'm sure this will lead to another nuanced and thoughtful discussion from the AV Club community.

Hm, not a great precedent.

But like, am I crazy? Is "house slave"/"field slave" a common enough part of our vernacular to make this work as a joke? I get the concept from history and shit, but I've never heard the term used outside of that context, and when Maher said it, I just thought of some white southern granny taking her opportunity to

"How did it blow up though? I heard applause…"

But there's no reason he had to use a racial slur. WHITE PEOPLE SHOULDN'T SAY RACIAL SLURS. It's not that hard!

Yeah, but there's no reason Maher had to use a racial slur to get that point across. Hell, even a look of "what the fuck did you say" would have been sufficient. He tried too hard, thought he had an opportunity to say a naughty word, and it blew up.

Before anyone rushes to defend Maher, what is the joke here? This isn't a colloquialism anyone uses unless they want to be edgy for whatever reason. There's no reason Maher had to use that word. This wasn't an academic discussion about racial slurs, Maher just thought he could make a cheap joke and it bombed.

I think it's really interesting that Crashmo is perceived as the more difficult game, and I don't say that to brag, trust me. I thought Pushmo was pretty difficult, and now that I'm towards the end, I often find I'll beat one level only to get stumped by the next. I've relied on walkthroughs for at least half a dozen

I'm sorry to hear about your cat, but I'm glad your dad is OK. I honestly don't know how I'll make it through the next 4 years with my faculties in check so I'm just taking it day by day. That's hard enough as it is, ugh.

Just block the imbecile. He's just trying to get a rise out of us.

Plus all the people who will die without healthcare access. You can't bring them back to life in a few years.
