@Izkata: I think you and lots of Lifehacker readers are pragmatic. We clean logically, whereas my experience with "Neat-freaks" are that they aren' t logical about cleaning, it's a compulsion out of emotion, not out of reason.

So from what I'm seeing, neat-freaks have an entirely different mindset than myself, and maybe others:

@nobodyzhome: Yes, you are a lot to have to put up with but it's the complete arrogance that makes it hardest.

As it turns out from the comments here, most neat freaks appear to be assholes as well. As long as my shit is in my own space, DON'T FUCKING TOUCH IT. I live with a neat freak that feels it's necessary to hide my cereal and other groceries from me. This pisses me off.
