Pence legitimately makes me shit bricks. He reminds me of some sort of medieval crusader in the worst possible way: a man who would kill for his beliefs if his god told him to. True believers are scary bastards. Reason doesn’t work on a person like that.

I always trust my local dogfighter when he says his dogs are all looked after in luxury hotels.

I mean this part: “Typically they expect the roads to be built for them and everyone else to get the hell out of the way, while they drive at whatever speed is most relevant to their own personal sense of impatience”

I’ll back you up on the people who drive cars. I live in Vancouver, and every day I am routinely endangered by motorists who, in addition to disobeying speed limits:
-Fail to stop at intersections before executing right turns, either cutting off or hitting pedestrians trying to cross the street who have the right of way

All true. It’s important to remember the relevant risks, though. Dumb pedestrians can hurt themselves. Dumb drivers can kill themselves and others. So when it comes to what we should be doing as a society, I’m more worried about dumb drivers than equally dumb pedestrians.

We don’t need alternatives to driving or taking cars off the road. We need people to take driving seriously. That may mean stricter licencing, harsher punishments for infractions and more cameras to capture and penalize bad drivers.

I would wait to have an offer before telling your boss you’re quitting.
