When charging completes, the connection is not severed. It should trickle charge to keep it full. As long as the alarm doesn’t trip until the circuit is broken, it shouldn’t go off unless it’s actually unplugged.

Lets all take advice from the guy in the fedora and the greasy long hair, ‘Well Actually’ing a woman with some beside the point nonsense who also managed to seriously burn himself with a 9V battery, and thinks he can handcrank a flashlight enough to charge a cell phone.
