I used to use Apex, even paid for the pro unlock, but I switched to Nova (and paid for that too), because it simply is basically the same, but with more features. The notifier app for it is rather lacking, though, and is very slow to update icons with notifications.

I do this too, because my Galaxy Ace has a tiny amount of internal storage. I also remove the inbuilt audio files except UI files.
