I know this study outlines a small sliver of women in the US, but it really made me smile to watch Diane Sawyer report it on ABC this evening.

I loved playing rugby in high school! Just wish I had been better at it.
@Alibelle: Hanson is clearly intelligent, but she doesn't seem to be brimming with self-confidence. I can see why she would call in. Dr. Laura's brand of no-nonsense advice definitely holds appeal for people who have a hard time addressing issues directly.
@BringerofthePain: Oh the Lisa Frank days. If I recall that was right around "Always Be My Baby" and "One Sweet Day."
@Hannah: I saw that and just felt sad for her. And I don't feel sorry for Ms. Satchels of Gold. But come on, be like Kelly Cutrone and go to Babeland, get some real advice.
@Gumbina80: Agreed. I just wanted to point out that she wasn't quite as wretched as Ed Helms' fiancee in the Hangover.
@nitpickingshouldnotbeliteral: Mrs. Kinsey was awesome! I loved her in that role. He did some hurtful things but they really love each other. Laura Linney gave her character such nuance and strength.
@Gumbina80: Well I liked in Forgetting Sarah Marshall how Sarah Marshall had her moment of explaining why she needed out because he was depressed and wouldn't do anything about it. I've been there and didn't get whisked off my feet by Russell Brand prior to dumping my depressed bf at the time.
@NobodysDaughter: Sometimes I forget that Desperate Housewives is still on tv.
@bethinwonderland: Did you see the Kids are Alright? Annette Benning does a great job playing alphas. In that movie, yeah, she's a little controlling and an alpha but she also has emotions and grows and cares, which is pretty cool for Mrs. Uptight.
@skahammer: In Amélie, it's definitely all about her and the guy is kinda the icing on the cake, but she did the cake all by herself. But Amélie was also made in 2001. We need more awesome heroines.
@ZenScout: I can't stand to leave water rings on wood furniture! It looks terrible and happens so easily.
@RosePetalPlace: Oh yeah. I see this on tv and then I see my own mom, who at 52, has completely screwed up my perception of what most people her age actually look like or at least, what Hollywood thinks they're supposed to be like. She's beautiful and self-confident without being a total jackass and sometimes she…
@KatieTwoHands: She was walking a fine line between uptight and just plain shy. Laura Linney's not exactly known for the carefree roles she's taken on, but she's pretty damn good.
@RoseColette (fewer thorns; more coffee): Amen to that.
Tracie, you look damn cute in that Pot Psychology video with Rich and Jay 420. Just saying.
@frazier.averylane: I know it's hard to ask for help sometimes but yelling will definitely scare the creep away. If security catches him, he'll at least be banned from the mall/movie theater if not have to deal with actual cops. A poster further down this thread (I wish I could remember who) mentioned that just…
@MissMollyKate: I've been riding since I can remember and wearing breeches in public always seemed pretty normal, if not always super stylish. I get the unseen riding crop thing, but the little girl in my head who loves loves horses isn't getting how anyone could find a normal (even nice!) riding outfit offensive.
@MagImpalor is a god damn spy.: I'm quite happy to be the bitch. Being a woman of ample cleavage, I got used to putting on my bitch face at a pretty young age. I rarely have to say anything bitchy to deflect harassment, but the bitch face along with appearing to be busy (pretending to play with phone, looking anywhere…
@RedWriter: That piece was awesome. I'm an only child and at least half of the time when I tell people, they say something to the effect of "really?". Wow I don't have siblings and yet I can still listen to other people. Who knew?
