The recommended method of extinguishing a lithium ion battery on board an airplane is to isolate it and pour water in there to cool it.

I thought the Dutch liked orange.
Cos tend to be very aware of the physics involved in a small car collision. With modern SUVs having a driver death rate 10 times better than small cars, most police departments are investing in the Ford Explorer based vehicle.
Because as long as they call for him to return here, it detracts from his claims of government over reach.
“The Boeing 777 is still under development, slated to start flying in 2020"
Midsize SUVs have a driver death rate about half of midsize sedans, and the more the IIHS talks about the safety benefits of taller, heavier vehicles, the more parents will buy SUVs.
But within Europe (or at least, within the UK) Skodas had a reputation for being incredibly low quality machines.
Not sure if this counts but I like to spell out the acronym KIA as killed in action.
It looks pretty good. Skoda is a whole lot better than they used to be.
Also, there are major legal implications if they fail to disclose everything that NHTSA could say later should have been disclosed. That was Toyota’s problem with the unintended acceleration.
Only if you include all vehicles on the road in a country where the average car age is over 10 years. The death rate per mile is comparable to a ten year old Honda Accord: better than average, yes, but not as safe as comparable new vehicles.

To add to the analogy, the glass cockpit was the end of a career for many pilots who could not learn automation management. With cars, however, there is no mandatory training for all drivers, and those that don’t understand the limitations of the system continue to use it regardless.
Garmin sells an autopilot flight control system which augments the Garmin gfc700 autopilot system sills on many light aircraft. The AFCS adds stall protection and basic flight envelope protection. It’s a separate system, but in the (and will - like emergency braking - turn itself on if it detects a dangerous flight…
I think there are degrees of distracted driving. Most of get distracted at some point during a commute. Watching Harry Potter on a portable DVD player is a level of distraction that is unlikely without automation.
