Republicans are transphobic bigots spearheading an increasingly genocidal persecution of trans and queer people. They would have found something to manufacture outrage about from this event no matter what happened or who attended in their desperate attempt to gin up rage from their miserably hateful and increasingly

Pretty much, yes. It’s a shame because THQ Nordic was working on a lot of good AA stuff. Jagged Alliance 3, Outcast 2, Alone in the Dark, Destroy All Humans, Gothic Remake, etc. Now it seems like they’ll be cutting back on titles with lower profit potential and focusing exclusively on their biggest AAA IP. The smaller

I know that writers don’t compose their own headlines, but calling it a “heel turn” when an acquisition spree turns into a squeeze is ridiculous. Embracer burned through cash because they thought their portfolio would attract even more investment. And, as usual, the money people probably have no skills other than

Super super cool how they acquired a bunch of (seemingly) stable and successful developers and now are gonna lay off a bunch of people and shut down those same studios because they got greedy and bought more than they could afford.

It’s not that I expect games to take as long as they took previously, it’s that I expect (want) publishers to not announce games until they’re close to release. I don’t need to hear about a game more than 6 months out.

Went to a concert a few weekends ago. One 16oz white claw was 17 dollars. Beer was no better at 18-19 dollars for one 16oz. That can’t be the reason though.

Cancel PVE and then have the gall to charge $15 for this? This is scummy as shit.

This is one of those “sucks to be a games writer, I guess” problems. For us normies, we might buy/play one or two of these at launch and then pick up the rest over the next few years at a fraction of the cost, or on a subscription service. Same as it ever was.

I liked the part where bigots pretend that homosexual is in any way linked to pedophilia, when they know damn well they made that up as a smear tactic.

Honestly, if they can’t get it to run at 60 FPS consistently, then I’d rather have a locked 30 FPS mode that actually achieves that goal. Inconsistent framerate is much worse than a locked 30. But of course, the best-case scenario here might be a locked 40 FPS mode for people with 120hz TVs.

Most people who care wouldn’t be able to tell if they turned their fps counters off, either. Largely this trend is driven by folks deriving a sense of satisfaction (& in some cases superiority) of seeing a number climb higher.

Who complains about this? It’s the normal price for an expansion.

I confess, I still can’t tell the difference between 60fps and 30fps. I get that some people care about this, and I hope that their games run at the frame rate they prefer.

And let me tell you, if you’ve been playing 60 FPS, and now you’re looking at 30 FPS, it looks awful. It gives you a headache.

Just a reminder to the angry out there: over ten million players have been enjoying Tears of the Kingdom at a not-so-locked 30fps for the last month. It’s not the end of the world.

Not to defend Redfall, I don’t really know why they would have included that game on a showcase about upcoming games?

While I am loathe to defend CDPR, this is a stupid thing to get mad about. Expansions for major games used to cost 30-40 bucks. Taking inflation into account this is a good deal.

It’s giving peak poor-man's-idea-of-a-rich-man.

Apparently, expecting professional drivers to read existing road signs and understand the requirements of their vehicles and how the two interact in real time is just as stupid as expecting normal drivers to do the same. For some reason we are allowing our fellow humans to become increasingly stupid but focusing on

This. I live in Florida which is currently under a fascist regime. The state has spent so damn much money attacking and demonizing trans people, LGBTQ people, and anyone believing in basic human dignity for all, that the culture war is currently costing taxpayers tens of millions of dollars. And that’s just the
