I understand that there are people who don't care about food and really like eating out. (I also understand the need for more clothing/shoe organization.)

@Lymed: Or who gazes at copper pans with drool on their face.

I'm going for Red Velvet (which I don't really like anyway). Wedding can be anything, but most cakes, with the exception of the French-influenced Korean ones I've had, were bad.

@PrettyB is like Whoa: I think it's the overabundance of canned fruit (like cherry pie filling) in the pies. It just doesn't good like the fully-homemade stuff.

@Plum-Pie: I'm actually not a fan of it in pie form (cobbler is good. scone is the best carrier of blueberry baked goods). All of the ones I've had (whether commercial, homemade, or from a farmer's market) were just to sweet.

I loved my Cinderella blue strapless gown that I got at J.C. Penney's (on sale!). Sadly, another classmate wore the same exact one.

I've been a "local" for a number of years now. What is the appeal? It's pretty, and I would imagine it's nice to have a picnic underneath them.

@turtlebashodi: Dude, it's like driving. Left lane is for passers only!

@thisisthebeat: Just to be contrary (I hate coconut flakes). (Apparently the puppy is named Coconut.)

@laetitiae: You had me at nuts. (Even though I'm Team Cake, I often hear the soft sirens of Pecan Pie luring me in.)

@Eleanor Ramilly: Have you looked into the craft (Michael's, AC Moore) stores? A long time ago, I purchased a few paint brushes (natural hair from some animal) there. My most amazing purchase was the thick brush that 90% resembles a foundation brush.

@Marbe: May I suggest another very good, but inexpensive primer? I use it for my combination skin. It's a mail order online company: [www.fyrinnae.com.]

Pecan pie is one of the few pies that will stray me away from Team Cake.

@FireflyinJuly: I've seen most of the Free People merchandise at discount stores (Loehmann's) and clearance at department stores (Lord & Taylor, in particular).

@bexb1103: And Julie Andrews got the Academy Awards for the part. (Hepburn wasn't even nominated.)

Carvel aside (it's a tradition in our house too). It's the only American cake my father will allow at his birthday.

@snobographer: It's also because women are waiting longer to have children. I love being able to have a career and everything, but there are serious risks to waiting in your later 30s/40s to have children.

Veggies are yum. I can't wait until later spring, when my parents' very large vegetable garden starts sprouting out goodies.
