They do break. Sometime the marking get erased, sometime it physically break ( like lever and things) or they just stop working. It’s like everything mechanical, bad design do exist in switches. They normally take decades to wear out though. Most switches however, they are going to be fine for a long time.

Well Mazda could certainly help design a better platform with FCA without using the GJ platform.
