Insert Yakko Warner style blown kiss to the audience.

What’s Camryn Manheim doin’ these days?

She was flighty in the original, but not dumb at all.. she was just an idealistic adult who didn’t quite know what to do with her life, career-wise, or dating-wise. Granted, the later episodes are very fuzzy in my memory, but at the very least in the early episodes, she’s not the whackjob she’s portrayed as in the

Which this portrayal of Becky seems weird to me, because yes, Becky has always been kind of shallow, she was supposed to be the smart kid with the good grades, which was part of why her dropping out of high school to get married was such a bad thing.

Yeah, they had me at this.

Only if McInnery is still named Darling.

Is Brett Butler available? I recall Grace Under Fire being one of the other popular working-class focused sitcoms of the time.

What I’m surprised more people don’t talk about in this movie is the way it treats adolescent male friendship, and navigating that friendship in the context of growing up and possibly growing apart. The sleeping bag scene was heart-warming.

Nostalgia is a powerful drug.

They did it to Valerie Harper.

Oh, my god. I would move clear across the country if it meant I could hear Ryan Reynolds’ deadpan delivery on my morning commute.

I could have happy watched Road to Avonlea had they decided to follow Gus and Felicity and Felix and Izzy into marriage and raising children and watching Canada move from the Edwardian period into WWI and the Roaring 20s.

If you want to hear Steely Dan songs, see Steely Dan. It’s not a stretch to assume that someone performing solo might want to perform their own stuff.

Around the time #metoo was breaking, I had a dream that I met an actor I like who, to the best of my knowledge, is not a known creeper, and in my dream he hit on my teenaged daughter in a not-very-nice manner and we tore a royal strip off him and I woke up feeling like no fave could be trusted.

There’s a line in... New in Town, I think, where he says something something “... You IDIOT” and almost loses me, but follow up of “You know how you talk to your Grandma” saves the joke.

Offer twice, and if the person who asked for the bill doesn’t give it up, you’ve gotta let go.

Huh. I just figured it was because she’s Canadian.

This. I got married stupid young (and incidentally, had a fight during the split about whether an acoustic guitar was a gift or not) and my parents sure as hell weren’t rock stars.

I loved in Degrassi High when Erica has an abortion and Liz, who is very anti-abortion asks Spike (who gave birth and raised a kid at 14) why she’s not also against Erica having an abortion and Spike straight up tells her that keeping Emma was the right choice for HER and Erica gets to decide that it’s not the right

This was my favorite episode so far because of the way they handled the abortion storyline and also because it made me laugh in a way that ensured my own special place in hell.
