You know who else liked slapping solitary star insignias on things to invoke blind submission to a rigidly dogmatic government?

I’m going with Abbott. Mainly because I clicked both tweets and went as far down the rabbit hole as I dared, and on Abbott’s feed I saw this:
You fool. Real ladies do not poop. They don’t even perspire. True conservative ladies who support their husbands by working in the home and wearing twinsets have no bodily functions.
Eh, it’s the come and take it one.
Obligatory:
I’m embarrassed to admit this but, having spent my entire education in the California public school system, upon reading: this will be the beginning of the end of the public school system as we know it, my first thought was: From your mouth to God’s ears, baby.
Why wouldn’t I know what’s normal and appropriate in Egypt? What are you even asking, and why are you asking it so long after this event?
Ask the Egyptian women who are routinely harassed no matter what they wear, see what they say [news.bbc.co.uk] Just asking the question is making the argument, and the 'what was she wearing' argument doesn't become any less victim-blamey because she's a reporter or because she's abroad in a city throwing a party - or…
Women are raped even when they wear conservative dress. It doesn't matter what a woman wears, it matters that people stop raping. Period. End of story.
@SilentShout: She was wearing a vagina.
Um, I know that. I read that she was accused. My reference to the Jewish/Israeli thing was just that: a reference. Meaning, it would probably be worse for someone who IS Jewish/Israeli.
AND a jacket; they said that Ra, who was holding on to her as the mob pulled her away, was left with a jacket sleeve in his hand. It's all there in the clip; this question didn't need to be asked.
@Squabble: male reporters = noble warriors for truth taking calculated risks for our benefit
Actually, the fact that a group of men had no problem ignoring that Logan is a human being with rights, who deserves to be treated as a person rather than an object regardless of what she wore or where she stood or how many times she blinked or where she got her shoes, is the real danger in this situation.
it matters not AT ALL to her getting attacked but to asnwer your question look at the footage in the interview...for that matter look at all the footage of her reporting from the war zone...she is always wearing the appropriate gear...maybe you should start watching the news and stop watching Ron Burgandy
Wow. Really? Obviously it didn't matter what she was wearing because it got TORN OFF before she was assaulted.
Do you honestly think Ms. Logan wasn't told exactly what you said above, *multiple* times? Also, hello, racist assumption there? Is there some difference in the brains of Egyptian men that turns them into raging hellbeasts when a woman wears something as skin-baring as the "typical sexy newscaster look"? The flak…
Her clothes were totally normal and appropriate. And really, the way she was dressed had nothing to do with the actions of the crowd.
The responses weren't anything like the amount of victim blaming going on with Lara Logan, though, and while there have been questions about male reporters going to certain areas, they haven't prompted anyone to suggest men should stay out of war zones altogether. You don't have to get angry, but the difference…
