Nope. Lift cables can be a nightmare. 23 year old canvas is going to fail if it hasn’t already. Finally there’s the elephant in the room that hasn’t come up yet...wood rot. Unless this thing was kept indoors whenever it wasn’t on the road the wood - well - particle board - will failing as well.

Maybe it’s not working because both halves of the country tells the other half they’re unworthy of existing just for thinking differently.

The 1 series is the most underrated car out there. I recently had to spend a little bit on maintenance for mine and it got me thinking about what it would take for me to give it up. After getting it back and taking it for a nice drive I decided nothing short of catastrophic failure would make it even a consideration. 

I feel like that’s the case from some of these cars for sure. But, 2ok 240sx and the 58k Type-R are for sure some 90's kid who grew up successful enough to be able to spend money on his childhood dream car. If I made a million dollars a year, I would not hesitate to spend loads of money on 90s Japanese imports. Those…
