Nope. Lift cables can be a nightmare. 23 year old canvas is going to fail if it hasn’t already. Finally there’s the elephant in the room that hasn’t come up yet...wood rot. Unless this thing was kept indoors whenever it wasn’t on the road the wood - well - particle board - will failing as well.

The 1 series is the most underrated car out there. I recently had to spend a little bit on maintenance for mine and it got me thinking about what it would take for me to give it up. After getting it back and taking it for a nice drive I decided nothing short of catastrophic failure would make it even a consideration.
I feel like that’s the case from some of these cars for sure.
