I will never for the life of me understand why people take on such restrictive diets when they travel. Are they happy that they are refusing to eat such wonderful food based on nothing more than their need to be superior? Maybe they get a kick out of going somewhere and telling them whats what.

The last time I ate at Peter Luger's, I orders the salmon. The waiter replied, "Oh, you must be a vegetarian!"

Just like I'd never go into a vegan joint (some of which are really good, by the way, even by my omnivore standards) and act all snotty because I can't get a bacon cheeseburger.

YES. I was with friends in Barcelona once and they chose a seafood restaurant… and then almost all insisted the waiter tell them what didn't have seafood in because they didn't eat seafood. We were a large party and they made him have the same conversation several times, because not everyone could hear. And it was all…

Justifiying pickiness is still pickiness. Veganism/vegetarianism are a form of pickiness. Even refusing to eat insects would count as pickiness. It is just that some forms of pickiness are more socially acceptable than others.

Also, picky eaters need to not go into restaurants and act like it's your own personal kitchen. And if your vegan/vegetarian, don't come into a steakhouse and act like it opened to personally disrespect you.
