I am really loving this whole Halo/Gaming thread. Well done everyone, gold stars for all.
I can’t lie as I have owned both; however, I personally think the Chrysler PT Cruiser was far uglier than the Pontiac Aztek. Plus automobile tents are the coolest thing ever; grabbed one this year and it’s a nice compromise between glamping and camping.
Strong list, I would have to add Summer Nights as others have mentioned, but I’m also a big Dreams fan. I just feel like I jumped in an 80's action/adventure film whenever that thing plays.
Yeah 1942 was a great one, played many LANs with that one. I would say I really got into Battlefield 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2 the most. I also couldn’t get into the single-player modes, which is usually my goto. I really only play online with a few friends though, I never play by myself online since I’d rather…
No apologies necessary! They were random occurrences, and hardly showed up. Which was a bummer. Driving one of the SUVs along the ocean with the hurricane rolling in was a blast. Great memories there; however, I absolutely 100% agree with the forgettability and that Battlefield 1 figured out process much better.
Battlefield Hardline had weather effects on two maps near the end of the rounds. Here is the description:
Dynamic weather in Battlefield Hardline functions in a similar manner to Battlefield 4 in the form of Levolution. It is featured on Dust Bowl as a massive sandstorm and Riptide as a raging tropical storm.

I do enjoy when games utilize weather elements in their games to change the gameplay. I have some fond memories of playing Battlefield Hardline and dealing with hurricanes and dust storms, and it just added a fun atmosphere to the game.
Agreed! I doubt it’ll have wooden stick weapons and homing water bottles, but just the freedom of racing down hills, swerving between trees at rapid paces, and the ability to customize your rig/rider, if I can get some of those things, I’ll be satisfied.
Haha! It’s incredibly underrated! I mean homing water bottles, how genius! Also Whacked! I absolutely remember that, and enjoyed it thoroughly!
Super pumped for this, I’ve been craving a Downhill Domination / Xtreme gametype.
This is a good one. I thoroughly enjoy physical copies of games in regards to big and mid box PC games. Primarily because I like the artwork, the inserts, and just the overall presentation, which is why I collect them; they look amazing on a shelf, it’s almost that book library aesthetic for those who don’t read.
Metal Molders were awesome! Along with Creepy Crawlers; still have a few of those ovens laying around. I also remember the Pocket Rockers, I never had one, I instead had the Talkboy from Home Alone.
“I love the idea of millions of people going to watch the new Matrix film and hearing a character say something like “Years ago, after Morpehus’s death at the hands of The Assassin…” and then the 99 percent of viewers who never even heard of The Matrix Online look around going “What?!””
So though I am US based, I still tend to do a lot of my arcade shopping through Ebay and Twisted Quarter. I’m not 100% sure if Twisted Quarter delivers to the UK; however, they have quite the surplus. As acme64 also mentioned, Forums are a terrific community for arcades.
Yeah not sure on that one there, change the color scheme and you essentially have a Street Fighter cabinet.
Agreed with building your own. Even if you don’t want to custom fabricate a cabinet or use an old one, Micro Center (and other places) sell kits that use a sturdy plywood (better than the 1-Ups), that are full size, and use real joysticks, buttons, etc. They are a blast! They may look intimidating but are far less…
Sure is, the images are very deceiving. Also, they get by with saying it’s close to the size based on height not the other dimensions. It’s taller than the Arcade 1-Ups, but the pedestal is just a box it sits on, and it looks odd all together.
As an arcade junky, looks cool. I like the idea of making table-top arcades more so, as they can get away with smaller dimensions. It bothers me that they say it’s “full-size”, since the specs clearly states it’s 15.4" wide, and the Arcade 1-Up’s, are around 19" wide. This is far from full-size.
