I think it also helps create a culture of shared names when we had two of 6 teams in the CFL with the same team name, Quebec and Canada both have a Prime Minister, and we have a city called London.

That's not true. Eagle Scouts get all kinds of resume points while Girl Scouts have nothing similar and have always been underfunded and valued. Girl Scouts do a lot of community service. Which is pretty much useless on a resume.
Constantine is an asshole, but I did enjoy that he was being both serious and racist in being anti-Irish and anti-leprechaun
This would be fine if the last two episodes hadn’t touched on Zari and Constantine losing their parents. I feel like the writers just don’t want to deal with a plot from Arrow.
Amazingly the railroad companies initially divided the US into time zones, with no federal permission or oversight whatsoever
I was at a con where Lotz was asked about this, and she basically just said LoT is so silly a show that it won’t necessarily feel the need to address these details.
Never underestimate the corners cut by a government office.
“Send ‘em back to Hell” is Constantine’s main method of dealing with the demons and angry spirits he comes across, and when recruited to hunt down these magical fugitives, he couldn’t be assed enough to come up with something different, and none of the Legends thought to ask if he COULD do anything different.
I’m one of the ones who dislikes Mel at this point. I’m glad they saved Angela, and I would have been disappointed if they just killed her without trying anything else, but the way Mel went about it was just bad IMO.
I think it’s just that in the original, they rarely just ASKED. They would do the frantic flipping and then the book would take over as if it was exasperated that they couldn’t find it.
I’m firmly back on board now that it’s story of the week again instead of the long convoluted stuff. Simple, fun, easy to watch, still hits the right beats. So far this season is feeling more like the first few with Tennant. I much prefer it this way
This is no sleight against Holly Marie Combs (she actually did a good job acting wise) but you have to admit Piper could be pretty shrill and basically just whined all the time about how saving lives affected her life. Like she was all “Oh man this demon hunting is cutting into my planned baby shower. Ugh!” She Also co…
Mel was the biggest turn off for me when watching the first episodes of this show. I’m still not sold on her character, but she got a lot better this week. I hope they continue to tone down the stubbornness and develop her character better.
I sort of like that the stories are kind of generic sci-fi so far this season, I feel like it is a good corrective to the huge overly twisty overblown storytelling that had gotten too prevalent on the show, I think it could stand a bit of scale-down. Sometimes less is more...
I understand what you mean, but she honestly is getting better as a character, especially with this ep. Unlike the original show she seems to understand her mistakes and admit fault. And is vast improvement over Piper imo, who just acted like she was right all the time, when she wasn’t complaining how saving people…
1. Stormzy is grime, not dubstep.
I’m not sure why a lot of commentors didn’t get this but the scientists hired a company (that ended up being Robertsons) that was supposed to dispose of their spider carcusses. People at his company turned around and dumped it together with toxic waste in those mines. He was the one informed it was causing problems…
At danger of repeating myself endlessly in this comment section: that wasn’t freaking dubstep it was grime and the confusion is slightly insulting but understandable.
Wow... I had to go look up the recap for “Listen” because I had completely forgotten about that episode. The last Capaldi years have sort of jumbled together into a miasma of “I love seeing the doctor onscreen but I dislike what the writers are having him say”. Nothing against Capaldi but I kinda data dumped a large…
