In a remotely reasonable world he actually would have been a laughingstock candidate and the only critical lens needed would have been “look at this dumb asshole.” Brexit and other rumblings in Europe should maybe have been early indicators that the world isn’t nearly as reasonable as might have been assumed, though.

I saw Bernie making impassioned speeches for Hillary with my own eyes.

Hillary is not the reason Hillary lost. Cheating on the part of the GOP is. The election was stolen.

not only that... but it’s crazy that we’re hearing about Trump literally stealing the election when the DNC did that for Hillary as well. Hell, we have harder proof on the latter even. Even with that Sanders campaigned for Hillary.

Pretty much everyone in the entire world assumed Hillary was a shoo-in until approx 10 pm that night. Her biggest problem was that she assumed ‘Merica was smarter than they actually are.

Exactly. Bernie is not the reason Hillary lost. Hillary is not the reason Hillary lost. Cheating on the part of the GOP is. The election was stolen. It’s that simple. To see Democrats who are more angry at each other than at the fact that our country was stolen saddens me.

I read this figuring it’d be bullshit...but here’s the thing. I live in Hollywood, and know people “in the biz” like everybody does out here.

...and the thing I heard during the election was that Trump, the self-appointed “master of the deal” was actually really shitty at making good deals.

Like, his problem they said,

Bernie Sanders’ decision to pout for a while when he lost instead of trying harder to convince his supporters to vote for Hillary Clinton

Thank you. I know respectability politics is a thing, and so yeah I can’t slag on Cardi B for speaking in AAVE, for her plastic surgery, and whatever she wants to personally prioritize, but in addition to the transphobia and homophobia she has repeatedly owned up to, she’s also said that mentally ill people don’t need

No one ever talks about how often dating somebody who has mental illness can truly become of them or me scenario… Where you feel like you’re going to be destroyed if you stay, but you feel like you’re going to destroy them if you leave. It takes an enormous amount of strength and courage and love to be “selfish” enough

Yes and less we forget Cardi and her sister calling black women roaches and Cardi using a woman’s deceased child against her in a Twitter feud so her whole "don't talk about my child" spin is extra cute. Team none of these monsters.

I am unnecessarily invested in Ariana + Pete and I am so glad she’ll have his support while processing her ex’s death. Homegirl has been through it - Manchester, relationship w an addict, his death...Fame/$/Youth haven’t protected her from some harsh shit.

#TeamNoone, Cardi B’s homo- and transphobia against Minaj’s constant support of sexual abusers.

I heard someone say earlier this week “you are not responsible for how others process their pain”, and I think it’s so applicable here. Even if (and it’s a huge if), their break and Ariana’s subsequent engagement pushed Mac off some mythical ledge, it’s not on her.

It’s disgusting that people blame Ariana for Mac’s OD. She was with him for two years and felt the weight of his addictions. No one needs to stay with an addict. That said, people on Jezebel were also blaming Asia Argento for Bourdain’s suicide. I could not believe it! All these people are well over 18 and have to be

As far as I’m concerned, he can take as many paycheck-roles in shitty movies as he wants as long as he keeps reuniting with Linklater and Julie Delpy every decade or so.

Cage can be a godawful, scenery-chewing ham but he can also be magnificent in the right role and with a director who knows how to use that crazy person energy. I can totally see admiring his unique brand of acting.

He’s never said he hates popular movies and it’s weird it’s been painted that way. It’s entirely possible to think blockbuster films aren’t high art and still star in them. There’s a reason the “one for me/one for them” mantra exists.

Eh, I saw this at Sundance and while I know actors are ego-centric and love attention, I really don’t think this was made with any major awards in mind. It didn’t even make a huge splash or have a ton of buzz at Sundance, though it did win a special jury prize. As Joshua says, I think it was largely a passion project

This really pins down what’s so annoying about the comedians who dig in rather than admit that a joke wasn’t good enough to justify the offense given, or that they were punching down, not up - comedy involves getting an audience to recognize the things about themselves and their world that are ridiculous. If your
