There’s a Britney and Gaga version of “Telephone”on YouTube; Britney’s team ultimately passed, and Gaga did it with Beyoncé. Robyn recorded a demo of “Piece of Me” before it went to Britney, but I can’t find it. It’s really frustrating that Robyn isn’t a bigger deal in the States. “Dream On” has long been my jam.

I feel the same way about Thomas and Ashley on Southern Charm; those two dementors deserve each other and should not be allowed to interact with other people.

Or it’s the idea that something you haven’t seen n 25 years looks fresh and new again. I love gold tones in my house, not because I’m being facetiously ironic about the harvest-gold decor that was relegated to the un-remodeled homes of the working class houses I grew up in in the 80s, but because I haven’t seen it in

Yes, but the entire mindset behind the “ugly fashion” trend that eastern European designers like Vetements are doing is that it’s ugly and funny because it looks like something you would find at a Goodwill but really set you back at least $1,000.00. It’s not like Rei Kawakubo’s designs where it’s ugly because it’s

He’s finished as a creative force. He’s reached the point where all he can do is make “gloat pop”, full of references to his own life and circle. It’ll never remain timeless, in ten years those references will be dated and have no relevance to anyone who doesn’t understand the context in which it was made.

As much as I hate Kim and Kanye, I’m glad they’re married to each other instead of making two normal people miserable.

Nah it was called Life Sentence, same premise of having a better life after being misdiagnosed as terminal but the difference was the show starting when the protagonist finds out they’re not actually dying.

Gonna lay out one controversial take: Gunn probably still is a bit of a jerk. But Cernovitch needs to be punched in the dick so hard that his next piss will be from lunar orbit.

Fair enough. I just don’t think it’s a compelling argument (a-e are much better, in my opinion). Though I certainly understand why Disney might consider who the “accusers” are. Firing Gunn will likely embolden them to try and get other people too. I suppose there’s a “don’t negotiate with terrorists” thing at play.

Horror did add to my fears as a kid and did absolutely nothing to help me feel better about anything. I’m still scared of practically everything to this day. That being said I do want to write MG and YA horror because it’s a pretty interesting genre.

just how widespread forgiveness of the director appears to be

It also helps that the characters regularly acknowledge that they liked him more before he lost all the weight.

yeah, i mean another another apology after he’s rehired. like a, “oh yeah, i’m so sorry, thank you disney for giving me another chance. forgiveness is at the core of christian values. thank you jesus.” sort of letter or something.

I’m glad you brought New Girl up cause I also listed it elsewhere in the comments about how a fat suit can be used in contemporary shows without being negative. Like the main point about Schmidt was that he was insecure and wanted to lose the weight, but in the process of doing so he turned into a vain asshole. Like

The NPR reviewer is Linda Homes formerly of Television Without Pity. She sounded like her old self in that review.

The only people making it difficult to talk about such topics openly are the gleeful fat-shamers who derail any productive conversation by making it seem like any non-negative portrayal of fat people will give everyone free license to become obese. As if pervasive social stigma is a dam holding back the flood of

Given how shit they look 100% of the time, that’s reasonable.

I very hesitantly say it might be able to done, but it would have to be treated much different than I can remember seeing it done. Normally it’s just for some shitty and insensitive joke. I can’t think of an example where I thought it was used for a better reason than that except maybe Goldie Hawn in Death Becomes Her?

A lot of the issue with this show’s fat suit (and most if not all fat suits on tv/in movies) is that the ONLY time the actor is shown as fat, they’re the butt of a joke. How disgusting they are! How pathetic! They’re never shown just being a regular person living their lives in a way that establishes backstory or
