Univision bought The Onion and the AV Club. Univision also bought GMG and then put all their online media under one umbrella called FMG. Univision then mismanaged all of it spectacularly, and are now trying to sell it all after forcing buyouts on everyone.

Take away all of that and the main fail factor for me is that they’re born again Hillsong Christians or some shit, pimped out by their fame whore parents. I quite like Hailey - she’s vocal about disagreeing with her dad’s politics and seems relatively chill. I want better for her.

Blind Item:

Who says he’s not ugly?! His soul is starting to show in his exterior. Also, Ethan Hawke, 10/10 would. I saw him in person once. I’d climb him like a maple tree.

Guy waiting to ask you out= guy who will never ask you out until you’re in another relationship so he can tell himself that’s why you’re not together instead of risking rejection.

My aunt and uncle saved their top tier, carefully rushing it home after the wedding and storing it in a special section of the freezer they’d cleared out for it. They moved twice over the next year, and that cake was the most planned out part of the moves, with every second plotted so that it wouldn’t defrost.

I mean, that’s white supremacy in a nutshell. It’s the idea a straight (cis) white (rich/well-off) man is the normative mean, the Greenwich Mean Time that presents the starting point from which all other ideas and identities are measured in degree of divergence from that central identity. A white man and his ideas are

I hate this (white male) idea that people can somehow divorce themselves from their personal beliefs and be Rational People.

Was it here? I read somewhere maybe Salon or FB (secondhand, I know) the poster said he was in Walmart and the 20 something male cashier said he’s “perfectly fine with the Russians helping the president establish an oligarchy and ending democracy in the United States.”

And Sam is a comedian! Somehow people start caring about offensiveness and political correctness when it’s a liberal woman being provocative.

There’s a study that suggests that when intolerant white people fear democracy may benefit marginalized people, they abandon their commitment to democracy. It’s the Trump effect.

Yeah fuck this guy for bruising bananas he’s not going to buy.

I’ll file this under “things which will see people being thrown out of stores for” and “tiresome crap whose aftermath grocery store clerks will have to deal with, which they are so not paid enough fornext week.

And probably illegal in many jurisdictions.

Why stop there? Maybe put some blades in it or poison or something.

i felt the same way about Hasan Minaj’s special/one-man show. Not funny enough, but (unlike Nanette) i didn’t empathize that much with him, either.
Maybe it was the hometown crowd just overselling the reactions to his material.  Nanette was much better - and yes, that Picasso/art-history chunk was original and very

I probably go to about one comedy show a week, and largely they are female/PoC/queer-focused comedy, so I totally understand what you’re saying in that I sometimes feel uncomfortable or mildly insulted. But 1) They’re not talking about ME, 2) I think it’s important for me to listen to them because we haven’t been for

It’s more one-person-show than it is a comedy special. People are getting angry that it’s not “funny” when she herself says it’s not supposed to be. She said she’s quitting comedy, so why do you expect it to be funny? They’re upset that it’s the wrong genre description rather than taking it for what it is (and if they

I’ve always struggled with film dramas centered around violent, hypocritical mafiosos. I just can’t root for any of the characters.

I liked it and thought her message was important, but I can understand why some people think, you know, it’s not really stand up? The jokes in the first half were more smile than laugh-inducing, then it goes into (again, important, but not comedy) Ted Talk mode.
