What I remember most is the voice of the Shadow…it was pleasantly creepy. :)

Given the premise described here, I'm not even sure why the kidnapping angle was necessary. "Girl's parents die, extended family takes custody" would have still given us "American girl forced to live 'behind the veil'". Or "girl's parents send her to RIyadh because she's become too Americanized and they want her to

Sisko's reaction is surprising, and I can understand why it would have put some people off, but it does make sense in retrospect. Mostly, it's not much different than if a Roman history buff refused to watch Ben Hur because they would just be ticked off by the inconsistencies.
But to me, the most notable thing is that

It's news to me too, but cultures will certainly have shifted around on Earth by the time of the 24th century, what with a world government and easy transportation, not to mention the devastating world wars that probably mucked up their political structures.

Quick, somebody add a gong to the end of Ballroom Blitz!

That quote is when Worf served as a first officer aboard a Klingon ship…Martok's ship in DS9, I think it was?

It took me a while to figure out the interpretation y'all were making of this episode, but I get it now. I'm going to suggest that they might be afraid of the Mother dying without her actually dying: she might have found a lump which turned out to be a cyst, she might have cancer which went into remission, or the

What are you talking about, Heroes never had a second season. :)

Up until this point, I had a sneaking suspicion that Barney and Robin *wouldn't* end up married at the end of this, for one reason or another. Granted, it was becoming less and less likely as we see them together more and more, but I do think this is the first official confirmation we get.
And I got all gooey about

You know, the fact that the Logicians only scored 10 runs is a great testament to the Niners and Jake in particular. A nine-point loss for a professional team would be embarrassing, but not remarkably unusual, even playing against other humans. (And they usually have relief pitchers!) I suppose the Vulcans might

You're right about Sisko. Worf and Quark—they're not really the sort of people Bashir is going to want to hang out with. Ezri would be his best bet, but he's only known her a couple months maybe, and I'll guess that hanging out with her brings up uncomfortable memories of Jadzia's death, at least for a while.

Judi Dench is one for me. Her sitcom As Time Goes By is like comfort food to me, and it always makes me happy to see her in any new role. I would miss her ATGB co-star Geoffrey Palmer as well, but Dench's absence would be more notable because of how many more roles she gets.

What got me about Michael Jackson's death was how, all of a sudden, it was okay to like him again. He'd spent so many years as this creepy joke, so to hear his music playing on the radio, to hear so many people talk about how brilliant he was and what his music meant to them… *wipes away tears*

I get where you're coming from, but on the other hand it's kind of sad that we only ever see a public outpouring of affection for certain people after they die. Kind of nice to stop and appreciate the people who are still around and who mean something to us.

The Enterprise-D *was* the flagship, so I suspect lots of people were clamoring to serve on-board.

Spock was half-Vulcan, and so I've always felt that he was "more Vulcan than Vulcan" in order to compensate, the same way Worf takes Klingon honor to extremes. And the notion that Vulcans are perfectly logical and in control of their emotions always sounded like something they liked to tell themselves, rather than a

I have no idea. Good way for Fox to make money though. :)

…and they even questioned whether CVS had the *right* to stop selling tobacco products: whether it was against the law for them to not sell something!

Hmm…I wonder if businesses like Lego are paying Fox for "anti-promotional consideration"? "We'll pay you $300k, you trash our movie on air, and everyone will want to go see it." Brilliant!

I finished the Wheel of Time and I'm glad I did, but I've lost the inclination to dive into any other multi-book epic fantasy.
