Yeah, this is less of a gaming industry issue and more of an Asian culture issue. Western games have evolved significantly when it comes to female representation. Eastern games... not so much.

As far as the gaming industry has come in regards to gender representation (and I think anyone who compares first gen Lara Croft to first gen Aloy can see there has been “some” progress over the years) this kind of thing shows just how much further there is to go.
