Considering this is fan art, what exactly do you expect them to start? Besides which, this whole “create new characters” nonsense is always disingenuous. Change a character’s race - “Make new characters!!!” Make new characters - “Forced diversity! You’re just filling a quota!!!”

Because new characters don’t have the cultural cache that comes from decades of popular consciousness, and therefore can’t offer the kind of uplifting power for marginalized people that mainstream characters can.

I’ve had 11 episodes of patience. It has moments of brilliance and an overwhelming excess of mediocrity and wasted space. The moments of brilliance are only just enough to keep me going, but I grow more exhausted and frustrated with each episode.

Good gravy. As somebody watching Twin Peaks 2017 for the first time right now, the whole f’ing Dougie Jones storyline can burn in hell.
