“Sideswipe’s still pretty cool...”

Nothing to add, just thanks for a good story well-told. High fives.

I apologize for all the pricks who will take your innocent and fair comment as an excuse to continue bitching about the ending. I miss ME as well, and hope the next games can give that kind of experience all over again.

In the back, injured. Finn is trying to help him, but the wookie keeps trying to choke him out. It’s kind of a mess right now, but I think they’ll get it together. ;)

Now playing

Oh, man - we only got the Zootopia and Warcraft ones. The rest of ours were almost hilariously bad and poorly chosen for Star Wars. There was one that stood out head and shoulders above the rest - a luchador wrestler/pastor/urban vigilante piece called The Masked Saint. Tell me this deosn’t look like a Hallmark

I want to star you. I want to star you dozens of times. But, as you say, the comment system is bugging at the moment. In any case, I am with you 1000% - the glory of the pixel art is the invitation to imagine, and the world your mind creates off the foundation of that simple style is hard to match unless you’re going

I don’t know about “strategy.” Granted, it was a long time ago and my memory may be off, but I have zero recollections of tense, strategic fights. I don’t remember ever having to work out strategies or figure out cool spell combos or anything. I do remember that you’d sometimes be woefully underlevelled and just get

It’s kind of a “Chicken or the Egg” situation - are the random encounters infuriating because the combat system is so boring and slow, or does the combat system only seem repetitive because there are so many boring random encounters and not enough meaningful confrontations?

The slow, boring, repetitive turn-based combat is the #1 reason I don’t replay the old FF games (no matter how much I used to love them) and have largely given up on JRPGs as a whole. That they’re changing the battle system is the most exciting part of this remake for me.

This looks custom-made for the PC gaming audience. And yet seems to be a PS exclusive. I am disappoint. My disappoint runs huge for this one.

Am I crazy for not knowing what the big deal is? All the official images of Ahri I can find show her face as pretty generic. I don’t see how this statue is so profoundly off-model that it needed to be pulled. It looks fine! What, is the nose too... something? The eyes? Sorry, I’m an artist, and I can not see why

You know what’s as bad as people jumping into these articles ragging on how RB sucks because it isn’t real instruments (which I didn’t do)? The people who jump in to bitch about people bitching, writing long diatribes about how the two games can happily coexist. The fact that you’re right is heavily undercut by the

Aww, the combat wasn’t that bad! It’s an adventure game - you run around, mash some buttons, and repeat. Sure, the RTS stuff didn’t totally work, but there were some good ideas in there. It’s the sort of thing that, given some time to work up a proper sequel, they could have ironed out and found something magical.

Ha ha! No kidding, right? I work hard to nail down a tough part of a song, then even just a week or two later that part scrolls up and my fingers do the guitar equivalent of a spit-take.

Oh, I don’t know about that. I think Rocksmith game-ifies the experience pretty well. I agree that sometimes I just want something more mindless and Rock Band is excellent for the visceral feeling without the struggle, and for the songs that are just far too much for my level (curse you, Iron Maiden. You too, Judas

Another day, another chance to wish for the Brutal Legend sequel that will never come. Sigh.

Rocksmith is just such a great, great game. I love the hell out of Rock Band, still play it all the time, but nothing compares to playing an actual guitar. That feeling when the notes fade away and you’re just playing - it’s almost zen, sometimes. So sweet.

There are so many old RPGs I would replay today if I could turn off random encounters. FF6 is one of my all-time favorite games, but the thought of grinding through all those randos again is just... ugh. I got the Steam release of FF8 and would love to replay it, but the amount of time investment it would require is

This is just... tiresome. I’m exhausted by a new “#1 Issue” every year or two. I’m frustrated by a series of TPB collections that renumber every couple volumes, making it extremely difficult for outside readers to have any idea what the chronological reading order should be. I’m bored by the constant revamps and

Schumacher only made one Batman movie, he wasn’t in charge of anything. And no director gets to make choices about merchandising (other than George Lucas back when he owned Lucasfilm). That was 100% the toy companies milking the property. Just like they all milked every property they had in the history of selling junk
