That’s what I’m here for...fly, you fools!

I just want to say that if the apocalypse occurs, I hope you are close by, because I can’t run as fast as I used to and would likely be hauling a small child. So, you and your cat just falling over like that to distract the zombies would actually help me out a lot.

If I was a kid (or a parent with a kid) I can tell I would be all about this thing. I love the fact that Nintendo is even making something like this. It always feels like people are so ready to shit on them for trying new/different things. And then we play them and they end up being fun as hell. I won’t be getting it,

His last Kotaku post was on 3/22, but his Kinja profile has no mention of anything.

I’m often amazed at the outrage of those sorts at the sheer audacity of game developers to make things that aren’t geared towards the 18-35 set. I recall seeing similar outrage coming about when Skylanders first rolled onto the scene.

How dare they use ads to fund free content!

Ayup. The verbiage and attitudes on display are absolutely sickening; it’s like this guy’s friends haven’t matured past the mental age of twelve—and particularly shitty twelve year olds, at that.

Holy SHIT the trogs in #1...

In conclusion: let’s arm the teacher, it will make for a safer school right?

QUOTE | What we learned is that a large majority of parents don’t know what a loot box is, and even those who claim they do don’t really understand what a loot box is. So it’s very important for us to not harp on loot boxes per se, but to make sure we’re capturing loot boxes but also other in-game transactions. -

Indeed. A modern Xperia Play - with actual analogue nubs - is pretty much exactly what I’m thinking of.

So much this. Is not just the specs would make a “gamer’s phone” qualify as such... gimme a built in controller even with medium specs any day. There is a reason why the xperia play is still going around as a gaming device.

I loved gaming on the Xperia play. It was especially great for emulators. Unfortunately, it was a pretty crappy phone otherwise. Oh well.

They missed the opportunity to make a peripheral that snaps the phone in. Just a controller that you can slide the phone into then plug into it via the USB-C, maybe even have an extra battery pack in it or something.

The Xperia play had the best slide out controller Ive seen on a phone ..pity it got canned due to Sony/Ericsson infighting.

Eh, I know a lot of people would think of it as a ‘gimmick’, as you say, but I really would have preferred something with a slide-out game controller—it would’ve made this thing perfect for playing ports of games originally designed with physical controls in mind - KotOR or GTA or whatever - and even better for
