True - although it always amazes me how relatively little water remains from a melted ice cube...

Can you enlighten me what 'cask strength' exactly means?

Have you ever tried to just add a drop of water to your (rye) whiskey? It seems to 'unlock' the flavors - I find it quite an amazing effect. In the end, ice does that, too, but it also takes some of the flavor away by cooling it.

Germany: even engineering its volcanoes perfectly...

Is it important to know who Ed Hardy is?

Spot-on description of luxury brand-obsession! Should be a must-read for every 16-20 year old girl. Uhhm, well, for boys, too.

I like this post - particularly the thought about 'looking down' on any less-than-ideal gadget. Puts things a bit in perspective.

The picture is taken against Saturn - that's why that color. The cloudish thing? Klingon ship, methinketh.

Or you always pump for $20 only. That way the rising gas prices won't affect you. Ever.

...and around D.C as well!

What about a gravel bed, similar to the runaway truck ramps on highways? Ok, needs more gravel for a plane, of course, but wouldn't it be easier to maintain/restore?

It's not only the toddler thing - I wouldn't feel too comfortable about hauling a piano upstairs, either.

Sigh... you're so right. What I miss in the US kitchen are 'straight' and basic flavors. Everything seems to be a combination of a gazillion condiments/flavors, one on top of the next one. It's always 'cinnamon-apple', 'strawberry'n cream', etc.; things are 'smothered in cheese', made with 'raspberry vinaigrette', and
