To spend millions of dollars on a project, to invest hundreds of hours into developing and shooting, hiring writers, directors, a and actors to create nine or ten hours of something. And then not only is it a bomb, but it never makes the slightest impression on public awareness.

Re: Morgan/Altered Carbon, one major thing he got right about body-swapping/mind-simulating/etc., that 99.9% of SF authors get wrong, including ones who are (incorrectly) regarded as harder science is the importance of the endocrine system, and how a brain isn’t much without it.
