One additional reason that was sort of overlooked is that aircraft often make multiple flights per day. As soon as one flight is delayed, there’s a much higher chance that every subsequent flight that aircraft makes for the rest of the day will be delayed as well.

You’re correct. We take used oil and hydraulic filters, there’s old dry at the bottom of the drum for any leakers.
