Lightness, it's Important

It’s actually not carbureted, but that motor uses a fuel injection setup that looks identical to a carb. I have the same setup in my (Non-convertible) Dakota sitting in the garage, and they basically took an off-the shelf carb, gutted it, and mounted two fuel injectors to convert it over. This let them keep using all

You totally still should. Who’s to say meeting the ghost of christmas future is a bad thing? It’ll give you something to write about at a minimum.

This entire video is my spirit animal. My price point is usually just a bit lower than this, but the style of vehicle is identical.

A buddy of mine was a volunteer firefighter back in college, and he told me that this was always his favorite scenario, because he got to throw an ax through the windows of a parked car. And then leave a “Sorry we missed you” note on the windshield. They did not reimburse. Also, know that those hoses sometimes leak...

I’m on the driver’s side of the car (and pop up in a few of the shots) and this thing is loud as hell, and super awesome to boot. Apparently it’s fully California Smog legal too, as the guy went to get it BAR ref’ed and melted the test probe. They wrote it up as an experimental electric vehicle and sent it on its way.

The patina on your truck was perfect, and I appreciated that a lot.

That’s the truck’s good side, and the lighting and filter helps a lot. The drivers side has a sizable dent and scrape in the bedside. I bought it in July and vacuumed literal gallons of dirt, sticks, and leaves from every possible crevice. I’ve spent the past few months getting it in driving shape, and it’s finally

In the picture of the LeBaron convertible, you can just get a peek of my Dakota. It was certainly not a clean example. The photography makes some of there’s cars shine, but there were a few daily drivers there as well.

Matt brought all of his cars.

Every time I take my car in they get it “in spec” and call it good, and then give me my car back with the wheel pointed somewhere other than straight ahead. I prefer the string box method for home alignments, but this way is a good way to start. My truck was aligned with this method and tracks perfectly straight. Many

It all has to do with how much grip the tire has and also the design of your suspension. A set of 80 treadwear all seasons might put 0.7g to the ground in cornering and thus will only cause the car to roll a little bit, so even a very aggressive alignment will only merit 1-1.5 degrees of camber to counteract that

They didn’t say that they’d make 0-60 in 1.9 seconds for 30 minutes. I would expect the car to do it once, maybe even a few times, and then slow way down on subsequent runs. The Model S has been known to have thermal issues with any kind of sustained track lapping (and by sustained, I mean 2-3 laps of a smaller track)

Hey, I’ve got one of those! I got mine on a bicycle though. They didn’t operate on mine either, and I’ve got a bit of a bump as a result, but everything seems to work properly 10 years afterwards. Sorry to hear about your bike, hopefully the legal system will make things as right as they can.

I’m registered with my Brown ‘88 Dakota. See you guys there.

Fun fact, you can get the VIN off of the California DMV website if you have the plate number as well. Go to the page where you get an estimate of fees, then plug in your plate number and “12345" as the VIN. The car’s fees outstanding will pull up, along with the VIN and a summary of the car. Super useful for then

It’s super annoying for buying cars in California, because you use the plate to look up the smog history. A car that won’t smog is almost always a gigantic pain in the ass, and I’d at least like to know what I’m getting into before I buy.

Someone should bring this to Radwood.

Swapping the Valve Cover Gaskets on my 1988 Dakota. The original cork gaskets were only making the lightest and most polite suggestions to the oil to not leak on to the exhaust, and the oil was having none of it. The new rubber gaskets should do a much better job. If I get really motivated I’ll clean the already

They don’t sell the 2 in the US anymore, so this is the next best thing. It’s on the same platform as the CX-3, and should have the same chassis tuning as the non-USDM Mazda 2/Demio models.
