I’m not really sure what’s going on with this but one thing I can lament is that former employees of the Trump administration are still getting jobs and being treated like serious people.
Hmmm. At least Regal had the decency to stop showing that dumb promo with Danny Trejo and others just reciting various movie quotes.
eh, I gave up after the fourth one.
You mean when it was the embodiment of blinkered, insular white privilege? It’s almost like you don’t want the show to be constantly apologizing for being the version that people actually liked.
Obviously this isn’t the kind of show that they want to make, but I think this is a mistake. The character generated a lot of strong responses, and was a big reason why people were talking about that show, not in spite of how misguided it was but because of it.
comment/username synergy.

Both. Also Robert Redford. (The only actor. It’s him, his boat and the ocean. It’s AMAZING)
I like movies that take enough time to tell the story well but aren’t padded with bullshit that should have been excised 2 editing passes before shooting started.
“In a perfect world, I’d make a compelling movie that doesn’t feel like an experiment but does not have a single word in it either,” he said. “People would leave the cinema and say, ‘Wait, there was no dialogue?’ But they won’t feel the lack.”
Yeah, I’d say there is. A good chunk of Gillis’ following and among the types of podcasts in the genre he runs in are made up of terminally online white males ages 15 to 35. Any appearance or mention anywhere results in the entire flock moving towards it. It’s similar to a K-Pop hive but if it were made up of people…
Is there a “White Bro” alert that goes out to summon them to spam articles? Because there is no reason for them to be here in such large numbers. They did the same on a “True Detective” piece recently. Not buying there’s this much real interest in an episode of SNL.
He has a podcast!!!! Oh then he must be famous! Either that or he’s every third white guy in America.
I keep seeing people in these comments calling this guy is famous. For what? Is he on a show? In a movie? Dating Taylor Swift?
The timing is just...chef’s kiss.
Some clown was whining earlier this week about it and posted a list of like 20 “criticisms” he had with the show and most if not all could have been said about the first season.
I feel like this was just recently announced to spite Pizzolatto, which, good.
Nic needs to take a good honest look at his True Detective output and STFU. He got lucky for season 1, faceplanted in his sophomore effort, and then cribbed his notes from season 1 for season 3. I certainly won’t be going out of my way to catch any of his future work.
